GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S MEXICO BIZARRO
Highly acclaimed director, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hell Boy), curates a special retrospective of Mexican cult cinema. We delve into the iconic director’s influences with The Vampire (1957), Brainiac
(1962) and Cabeza de Vaca (1991), classics never before seen in Australia.

MELBOURNE SALSA SENSATION AT METRO STATIONS
Metro has teamed with La Mirada Film Festival showcasing Spanish language cinema to help bring Melbourne train stations to life. As part of Metro’s partnership with La Mirada Film Festival, salsa dancing troupe Melbourne Salsa will perform four salsa demonstrations starting this week. Come and experience the Latin American dance and join the action.

Guillermo Anad is a musician, composer and writer from Buenos Aires - a specialist in Argentine Tango and Literature and has published widely in both. Come along and listen to Guillermo talk about the beautiful city of Buenos Aires it’s history, culture and lesser known treasures. SHORT FILM COMPETITION
La Mirada is holding a short film competition for Victorian filmmakers. The works will be judged by industry professionals and international guests. Main prize includes a post-production service package from Digital Pictures Australia worth $3000. Any film made in the last 5 years and under 15 minutes is eligible to enter. There is no entry fee.
