An inspirational film that has changed the lives of many people around the world. Director Sally Potter finds herself taking the lead in her own film combining sequences of reality in black and white with colourful fictional scenes from the screenplay she attempts to write while in Buenos Aires. Captivated by the city, she comes across the charismatic tango instructor, Pablo, and strikes a deal with him. Sally offers the chance for him to star in her next film in return to help her become a tango dancer. As a woman her instinct is to lead, but as a dancer she must learn how to follow. With some of the most stunning tango performances ever captured on film, The Tango Lesson is a story of a filmmaker’s desire to surrender to the world’s most romantic dance.
