MIGUEL KOHAN
Predominantly a documentary filmmaker, Miguel Kohan is director, producer, cameraman and Director of Photography. He received a Masters in Film and Television Production for the University of California in Los Angeles. Whilst studying in California, Kohan gained great experience working as assistant director for well known documentary filmmaker, Ross McElwee. In 1995, Kohan directed the short film Visa Lottery and won an award from the National Endowment of the Arts for a documentary he made about the aventure he embarked on in search of music in extinction in the Northwestern region of Argentina. Since then he has been busy directing a large number of documentaries, including Café de Los Maestos, and giving documentary workshops at differing universities throughout the United States.
