Due to an overwhelming response to the sold out session of the Opening Night Gala, the stunning film Medianeras, the story of Mariana, Martin and the big city has been chosen to screen at Best of the Festival. Although the lead characters live on the same block and their paths frequently cross, neither is aware of the other’s lonely existence. Both inhabit a juxtaposed world and share the same everyday scenarios, yet it is the city that brings them together, and, at the same time, keeps them apart… until something happens. Taretto's charming debut, starring the breathtakingly beautiful Pilar López de Ayala, is a quirky, intelligent, compelling and visually astonishing film.
