All Night Long (La Noche que no Acaba)
All Night Long represents yet another intelligent film by Isaki Lacuesta, one of the most interesting directors to emerge from Spanish cinema in the last decade. Through his untamed perspective we revisit the life and work of the divine Ava Gardner in Spain during the fifties. All Night Long offers a dazzling, revealing and playful documentary that splendidly combines impressive archival work with an unorthodox selection of contemporary interviews. Through his unique depiction of Ava, Lacuesta obliquely examines the impact of celebrity on often-fragile movie stars in the unforgiving limelight in a superb meditation on fame. The title of the film is taken from the poem that Robert Graves wrote for Ava.
