A Matter of Principles (Cuestión de Principios)
REVIEWS
One of the great Argentinian premieres of the year. A cast with many stars, a script with Roberto Fontanarrosa’s signature and a director who had already shown his talent with Rosarigasinos (2000), his first work, all get together to present a comedy of mores in a classical narrative style and with an excellent direction.Cuestión de principios is a great film. A great cast in the hands of a “great director”. And not only because of his surname, but because of his talent.
ESCRIBIENDO CINE
Juan Pablo Russo
Fontanarrosa looks at every day characters with wit, irony and humour: comedy has a critical side but the observation is always tender, cheerful and understanding.
In his adaptation to the cinema he keeps the sharpness of the notes and the humorous findings of many dialogues; he also has a team compromised with their work, and he takes out the best of each of them. The film is humorous and attractive enough to belong to the present wave of popular local cinema.
LA NACIÓN
Fernando López
What a lovely surprise is this spicy comedy that adapts and enriches the homonymous story of the well remembered Roberto Fontanarrosa.
Add some typical office or marriage life situations, some good songs at the right time, and a resolution that goes far beyond than the original.
The film presents such a good look and ending that if viewed in Hollywood it may be bought for a remake. But they would not make it right. Surely they would not make it right.
ÁMBITO FINANCIERO
Paraná Sendrós
A well constructed script.A lovely comedy of mores on work ethics and other things about life like marriage and infidelity.
CRÍTICA DE LA ARGENTINA
Eugenia Saúl
Between the most traditional comedy of mores and an individual epic.
PÁGINA 12
Horacio Bernades
Every feeling of the story in which it is based is felt with a blinding clarity in Rodrigo Grande’s film.
EL DIARIO DE LA REPÚBLICA
Miguel Garro
