Multi award winning actor Antonio de la Torre will present the films Fat People (Gordos) and The Island Inside (La Isla Interior). ALL ABOUT TANGO
Be inspired by true stories from the greatest tango artists and learn about the history of tango. Launching on Good Friday, take part in a tango lesson following the four films and kick off your Easter break with an eventful weekend. Suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to regular Milonga goers, you’ll be given an insight into the art of tango under the instruction of Fabio Robles and Ana Andre, directors of the renowned Robles Dance Academy. STUDENT FILM COMPETITION
La Mirada Film Festival is offering an amazing opportunity for all students from primary, secondary schools and universities the chance to win prizes, but also to have the chance to screen their short film at Australia's most important film institution: the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

Teaserland is a collection of fake trailers by high profile directors for films never to be made. An entertaining intoduction to film screenings with works by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza (Rec), Isabel Coixet (Elegy, Map of the Sounds of Tokyo), J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage) and Toni Ulled.
CLOSING NIGHT PARTY
After the screening of the hilarious comedy The Swindlers (Los Tramposos), join us to celebrate the last exciting night of the Festival at our Closing Night Party at La Mirada Lounge, Beer DeLuxe. Enjoy delicious Spanish tapas, wines and beers and go crazy at the best shindig in town with DJs from PBS.
