Dark Blue Almost Black

(Azul Oscuro Casi Negro)

Daniel Sanchez Arevalo, 105 MIN, Spain 2005, Comedy-Drama.

This is a striking and highly original film from first time director, Daniel Sanchez Arevalo. An ex-convict who can’t get his girlfriend pregnant, asks his brother to do it for him in this subtle and very human comedy, beautifully acted, and achieved with a delightful light touch, which shows great respect for its characters. The unique plot explores how to make the most of it when life throws us into unexpected directions. This thoroughly entertaining and at times hilarious film, marks this Director as a major talent to watch.
